Vienna Theory Lunch Club - One-Loop Multi-Parton Amplitudes for the LHC

Abstract:We discuss the computation of one-loop QCD scattering amplitudes with BlackHat, a numerical program based on on-shell methods. We report scaling properties with increasing numbers of external partons and about numerical stability of the implementation. We conclude with first results from one-loop amplitudes needed for computing W,Z + 3 jet cross sections at the LHC to next-to-leading order in the QCD coupling.
