| Abstract: | SRF lecture Supergravity Theories (ESI)
In these lectures I will give an introduction to supergravity theories. I will begin with the four dimensional N = 1 supergravity explaining its construction and properties and then present the supergravity theories in ten and eleven dimensions. I will then discuss the En symmetries that arise in the maximal supergravity theories. The relevance of these results for string theory will be explained.
