Flux and Chiral Matter in SU(5)xU(1) F-Theroy GUT Models and their IIB Analogue
Speaker:Christoph Mayrhofer (Heidelberg University)
Abstract: In this talk we will describe the construction of a special class of chirality inducing G_4-fluxes in global F-theory compactifications on Calabi-Yau four-folds. We will detail this flux in the case of models with SU(5)xU(1) gauge group which are relevant in the context of F-theory GUT model building. We will compute the chiral index of both SU(5) charged matter and of SU(5) singlets charged only under the U(1). The latter are localised on curves which are not contained in the SU(5) locus. We also extend our results to chiral fluxes in models without U(1) restriction and comment on D-brane recombination between the SU(5) and SU(5)xU(1). As a final step we take the weak coupling limit and give the IIB interpretation of these fluxes.
