| Stuckelberg Axions from Anomalous Abelian Models |

| Abstract: | I will discuss some work related to the identification of possible models which allow axion-like particles in their spectra. These particles generalize the concept of traditional Peccei-Quinn axions, for having mass and couplings to the neutral currents which are independent. They appear to be strictly connected with a mechanism of anomaly cancellation of Green-Schwarz type, realized in a field theory framework. I will describe two models where such particles occur, a non supersymmetric and a supersymmetric one. In the supersymmetric case, cosmological relic densities of these particles are derived from a simulation study of the corresponding Boltzmann equations.They are strongly constrained from the WMAP result on the abundance of cold dark matter. |
