Properties of the monopole formula
Speaker:Marcus Sperling (University of Vienna)
Abstract:The monopole formula provides the Hilbert series for the Coulomb branch of 3d N=4 gauge theories. After an introduction to Hilbert series, the monopole formula is reviewed. The computation of the Hilbert series can be rearranged and simplified by introduction of two geometric objects: a fan and monoids. This allows to extract various algebraic properties of the monopole formula and the Coulomb branch itself.

Hidden symmetries and decay for the Vlasov equation on the Kerr spacetime
Speaker:Jérémie Joudioux (Univ. Vienna)
Abstract:im Rahmen des Literaturseminars der Gravitationsphysik: I will review in this talk the commutator theory for the transport equation on curved spacetimes, and suggest, as an application, the derivation of an integrated energy decay for massless Vlasov fields on Kerr black holes. This work is a direct application of the work by Andersson and Blue (Ann. Math. 15) for the wave equation, combined with the commutator theory for the transport equation developed by Fajman, Joudioux and Smulevici. This is an ongoing work in collaboration with Pieter Blue.
