Dispersive Approach to Hadronic Light-by-Light Scattering and the Muon g-2 |

Abstract: | im Rahmen des Teilchenphysikseminars:
The anomalous magnetic moment of the muon has been measured and
computed to very high precision of about 0.5 ppm. For more than a
decade, a discrepancy has persisted between experiment and Standard
Model prediction, now of about 3 sigma. Forthcoming experiments at FNAL
and J-PARC aim at reducing the experimental error by a factor of 4. The
main uncertainty of the theory prediction is due to strong interaction
effects. At present, the largest uncertainty comes from hadronic vacuum
polarisation, which, however, is expected to be reduced significantly
with help of new data from e+e- experiments. In a few years, the
subleading hadronic light-by-light (HLbL) contribution will become the
Dominating error. |

The manifold of Riemannian metrics |

Abstract: | im Rahmen des Seminars in Geometric Analysis and Physics (GAP Seminar)
On the manifold of all Riemannian metrics on a compact manifold one can consider the natural L^2-metric as described first by Ebin in 1970. In this talk I will consider variants of this metric which in general are of higher order. I will derive the geodesic equations, show that they are well-posed under some conditions and induce a locally diffeomorphic geodesic exponential mapping.

Generalised Ricci Solitons in 2 dimensions |

Abstract: | im Rahmen des Literaturseminars für Gravitationsphysik:
We introduce a class of overdetermined systems of partial differential
equations of on (pseudo)-Riemannian manifolds that we call the
generalised Ricci soliton equations. These equations depend on
three real parameters. For special values of the parameters they
specialise to various important classes of equations in differential geometry. Among them there are: the Ricci soliton equations, the
vacuum near-horizon geometry equations in general relativity,
special cases of Einstein-Weyl equations and their projective
counterparts, equations for homotheties and Killing's equation.
We provide explicit examples of generalised Ricci solitons in
2 dimensions, some of them obtained using techniques developed
by J. Jezierski. This is joint work with Pawel Nurowski available
at arXiv:1409.4179.

Reduction of Couplings in Quantum Field Theories with applications in Finite Theories and the MSSM |

Abstract: | We apply the method of reduction of couplings in a Finite Unied Theory and in the MSSM. The method consists on searching for renormalization
group invariant relations among couplings of a renormalizable theory
holding to all orders in perturbation theory. It has a remarkable predictive power since, at the unication scale, it leads to relations
between gauge and Yukawa couplings in the dimensionless sectors and relations involving the trilinear terms and the Yukawa couplings, as well as a sum rule among the scalar masses and the unified gaugino mass
in the soft breaking sector. In both the MSSM and the FUT model we
predict the masses of the top and bottom quarks and the light Higgs in
remarkable agreement with the experiment. Furthermore we also predict the masses of the other Higgses, as well as the supersymmetric spectrum
both being in very confortable agreement with the LHC bounds |
