Fixed-term teaching and research assistant position (6 years) in the group Fundamental Interactions

The research group on Fundamental Interactions of Prof. Anton Rebhan expects to have a fixed-term 6-year research and teaching assistent position to fill by March 2020.

For this position, teaching duties will comprise participation in standard courses in theoretical physics, such as exercise classes to be held in German, and more specialized courses in quantum field theory and theoretical high energy physics, typically held in English.

Candidates need a doctoral degree, preferrably extensive experience at postdoctoral level, and above all expertise and an exceptional research record in the fields covered by the group Fundamental Interactions, i.e. theoretical particle physics ranging from the theory of the quark-gluon plasma to superstring theory with a focus an applications of gauge/gravity duality. Salary: Salary before tax is about 3,800 € (14 times per year), same as the postdoc level in the FWF scheme with an increase to senior postdoc when 8 years of postdoc experience (including previous employments) have been reached.
