Noncommutative differential geometry: quantization of homomorphisms and connections
Speaker:Paolo Aschieri (INFN and University Piemonte Orientale, Alessandria)
Abstract:In deformation quantization a manifold with a Poisson tensor is equipped with a star product, i.e. a noncommutative product between functions. A quite general class of star products is obtained by Drinfeld twists. In this case there is also a symmetry group that is deformed and the deformation quantization programme can be carried out not just for functions but for tensor fields and the differential calculus. We review these results and describe quantization of homomorphisms and connections. This noncommutative differential geometry leads to a deformed gravity theory.
