Effective CP-violation in the Standard Model
Speaker:Olli Taanila (Univ. Bielefeld)
Abstract:CP-violation is one of the necessary ingredients to explain the matter-antimatter-asymmetry of the universe. Recently we completed a calculation, where we determined the temperature dependence of CP-violation in the Standard Model. We find the CP-violation to decrease fast with increasing temperature, which has important implications for baryogenesis in the context of the Standard Model. When combined with numerical simulations, we can place strict limits on the temperature of the electroweak transition in cold electroweak baryogenesis.
