| Abstract: | CRYRING@ESR is the first operational heavy ion storage ring of the FAIR project. It has a long history of successful research in atomic and molecular physics during its two-decade operation as a central research facility of the Manne Siegbahn Laboratory in Stockholm, Sweden [..] In 2017 first ions from a local ion source could be stored and in the end of 2019 first ions from ESR were successfully transferred and stored in CRYRING@ESR [..] For the next two years ~400 8-hour shifts are foreseen for experiments at ESR and CRYRING. A call for beam time proposals just ended a few days ago and a large number of applications is expected.
In this seminar I will present the status of CRYRING@ESR and give an overview of the foreseen physics program together with results from the first successful experiments.
